1. RICHARD O'BRIEN - Partner, Outsights. (Chairman of the Judging Panel).
Richard O'Brien is a founding partner of Outsights (www.outsights.co.uk), a leading strategic
consultancy, working with the public sector, private business and NGOs, most recently developing
scenarios for the world's poorest. He spent 21 years in international banking, with Rothschilds
and American Express Bank - where he was Chief Economist and Executive Director. He is the
author of Global Financial Integration: The End of Geography, founded The AMEX Bank Review
Awards and has chaired the jury for The Economist/Shell Writing Prize since its inception. Richard
serves on numerous public and private sector governing councils and advisory boards.

2. CHERYL CAMPBELL - Executive Producer, TVE.
As Executive Director of Television for the Environment (TVE), Cheryl Campbell oversees the
organisation's activities and strategic development across its international operations. Cheryl
joined TVE in July 2003. She started her journalism career in newspapers, then moved to BBC
radio, and from 1988-92 she was a senior reporter on the UK-wide breakfast programme TV-am.
In 1992 Cheryl moved to Christian Aid, one of the UK's leading aid agencies, playing a significant
role in developing its cutting edge approach to raising awareness of development issues.

3. NARENDHRA MORAR - Commissioning Editor, TV News, BBC World.
Narendhra Morar is the Commissioning Editor for BBC World, the BBC's 24-hour international
news and information channel. Based in London, he has been at BBC World since 1997. He is
responsible for the commissioning of long-form programmes for the channel. These include the
award-winning series Earth Report; Life; Kill or Cure?; Talking Movies; India-specific programmes
such as India Business Report and HARDtalk India; as well as one-off documentaries and
debates. In addition, he has editorial responsibility for overseeing output that is sponsored or
advertiser-funded.

Born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Narendhra graduated from Birmingham Polytechnic with a degree
in politics before completing an MA in African Studies from the University of London (School of
African and Oriental Studies). He is currently completing an MA in Media Management with Leeds
University. He joined the television industry in 1982, working for LWT and Channel Four, and
moved to BBC Birmingham in 1987 where he became the Managing Editor of Multicultural Programmes.

4. STRYKER MCGUIRE - London Bureau Chief, Newsweek.
Stryker McGuire joined Newsweek in 1978. Following several reporting, editing and
management assignments in the United States and Latin America, he became Newsweek's
West Coast Editor, based in Los Angeles, in 1993. There, in addition to covering immigration
and other issues affecting America's western states, he directed the magazine's award-winning
coverage of the O.J Simpson trial. In 1996 McGuire was named London Bureau Chief. Since
that time, he has written several cover stories about Tony Blair, ranging from Blair's rise
(Blair's Britain, 1996) and Blair's slow fall (The Twilight of Tony Blair, 2003). Over the years
McGuire has won numerous national and international awards including, most recently, Best
Foreign Reporting from the Foreign Press Association in London.

5. MARY JO JACOBI-JEPHSON - Vice President Group External Affairs, Shell Group.
As Vice President Group External Affairs of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies,
Mary Jo Jacobi-Jephson is Shell's Chief Reputation Officer, responsible for all external and
internalcommunications strategies globally. Her expertise in corporate branding and reputation
management was honed as Managing Director and Chief Brand Strategist of Lehman Brothers;
Adviser to the Board of HSBC Holdings; and Senior Vice President and Executive Director of
Drexel Burnham Lambert. She has also held managerial positions with the National Association
of Manufacturers and 3M Company in Washington, DC. Mary Jo has also worked as a senior
adviser to two US Presidents, for the US Department of Commerce and a member of staff of the
US Senate Commerce Committee.

6. WARREN EVANS - Director of Environment Department - World Bank.
Warren Evans' main responsibilities include overseeing the implementation of the Bank's
Environment Strategy in particular for mainstreaming environmental objectives in lending and
non-lending operations. He also provides leadership to the global environment agenda with
internal constituents and external stakeholders including the expansion and strengthening of
global environmental partnerships. Mr. Evans, a US national, joined the Bank in July 2003.
Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Evans' experience in environment policy and
management includes his work as: an advisor to the Thai National Environment Board from
1978-1981; Managing Director of an international environmental consulting firm; and 15 years
with the Asian Development Bank working on environmental issues.

7. IAN BRAY - Head of Communications, Practical Action (formally known as ITDG).
Ian joined ITDG, an organisation committed to helping people to use technology in the fight
against poverty, three years ago after working for 10 years with Oxfam as a press officer.
Ian has many years' experience working as an aid worker in southern Africa and Asia. His
current job involves managing ITDG's internal and external communications. Ian helped shape
ITDG's campaign on indoor air pollution, known as Killer in the Kitchen, which lobbies for
global action.

8. GAVIN SMITH - Head of Business Banking, Triodos Bank.
Gavin joined Triodos Bank in 2002 to head the Business Banking team. Prior to joining,
Gavin was Head of Factoring Operations for subsidiaries of Lloyds TSB and Abbey National
where he provided asset finance services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Gavin's experience of working with small businesses dates back to his first job as a
graduate trainee in Belfast for the Northern Ireland Small Business Enterprise Unit in 1987.
Since Gavin joined Triodos, the ethical bank's Business Banking team has doubled its lending,
enjoying record years of growth in 2003 and 2004.
